Perfect Music for The NFL Playoffs

Looking for a little music to heighten your NFL playoff experience.

The Power and the Glory by NFL Films is the only way to go.

The CD, available at and many other places, features John Facenda, the so-called “Voice of God,” and the familiar  music of Sam Spence.

When Facenda proclaims “Lombardi…a certain magic still lingers in the very name” you’d swear that Moses just came down from the mountaintop.

And his rendition of Autumn Wind, a poem written by NFL Films head honcho Steve Sabol that has become the anthem of the Oakland Raiders, is one for the ages.

The CD features such classical lines as “If this doesn’t light your fire, the pilot’s out” and “if you can’t run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.” And a musical score that gets you ready for some football.

Facenda, 1913-84, was a Philadelphia DJ, broadcaster, news anchor and radio personality for decades before taking his career-designing role with NFL Films. His last work for NFL Films was a documentary of Super Bowl XVIII.
